High School Testing Information
The Michigan Department of Education requires that high school students complete various assessments beginning the week after spring break. Current 11th grade students (and 12th grade students who did not complete testing last year) are required to take the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) which consists of the SAT, the ACT WorkKeys assessment, and M-STEP science and social studies tests. Participation in the MME is required for graduation. Additionally, current 9th and 10th grade students are expected to participate in PSAT testing. Busing will be provided to testing students, with a regular pick-up time and early dismissal time.
In order to provide testing students with the best possible testing experience, non-testing students will be receiving remote instruction on testing days. Students are required to join a Google Meet and complete assigned activities for each of their scheduled classes. Failure to attend remotely will result in an absence.

Testing schedules may vary for students at Phoenix, KILP, and Kalamazoo Virtual Program, or students testing with accommodations. Students testing with extended time will have a late bus if needed. Students taking the WorkKeys test with the text-to-speech accommodation will need to bring a Chromebook. Breakfast, a snack, and lunch will be provided to testing students. Testing students are expected to attend remote classes when they return home. Students who participate in off-site instructional programs (CTE, KAMSC, dual enrollment, etc.) are expected to test at their high school building as scheduled.
