Spring ConferencesBe sure you've signed up for your student's spring conference with their teacher. The PTO will be providing lunch and dinner for our teachers during conference days to help sustain them through the long days and evenings of talking with families about their students' progress! Please email the PTO if you'd like to help arrange these delicious meals!Field DayOne of the most fun days of the school year is coming up faster than we realize - Field Day! Field Day is an all-afternoon event with games and activities for all of the students on the last full day of the school year. This year Field Day will be Wednesday, June 7th. We need volunteers to help plan this great event and volunteers to help on that day to run the games and make it a huge success! Look for a SignUp Genius in the next couple of weeks to sign up!Air QualityAt our last meeting, a parent shared great resources about the air quality on the Northside near and around Northglade. Many of you may have already been following the story with Graphic Packaging and its pollution in the area. This parent has been monitoring the odor around school and has been reporting it to the city. They are keen for as many parents as possible to become aware of what they can do to help protect their children, teachers and the Northside community from the air pollution created by Graphic Packaging and encourages everyone to use the below links and contact information whenever they smell odors in the area.1. City of Kalamazoo Odor Report FormThis form is quick and easy to use, though I'm petitioning for one of the "Types Of Observation" selections to actually list the very specific Graphic Packaging smell.2. Monica Brothers: Senior Environmental Quality Analyst, KalamazooMonica is very friendly, helpful and actually encourages direct calls and emails. She is the one who drives around to smell the reports from the above form.Cell Phone: 269-312-25353. Air pollution sensorsHere is a map which shows where the air pollution sensors are located in Kalamazoo. The closest one to Northglade was at Versluis Park but has been out of commission since May 2022. This parent has made an inquiry as to why it has been out of commission for so long.4.
