Elementary School Bus Procedures
The Elementary School Bus procedure (in addition to the District-wide procedure) outlined below is designed to help ensure that your student arrives safely to and from school each day:
-
Elementary students (K-5) are eligible for transportation if they reside more than one mile from the school, and they are attending their designated boundary school or a magnet school. If you choose to send your child to a school that is not a magnet school, and it is located outside of their designated boundary, transportation is not provided.
-
Make sure your child knows where their afternoon bus stop is located so they depart at the correct place and they know how to get to their home or daycare from that stop. Although we do not require that any students, except PEEP (preschool), to be met by their parent/guardian, we recommended that all elementary children have someone waiting for them at their bus stop.
-
Please teach your student that they must listen to their bus driver, stay seated at all times and speak in a quiet voice while on the bus so all students will have a safe ride to and from home. Unsafe behaviors cannot be allowed, and may result in the suspension of the bus riding privileges.
