District-wide Transportation Procedures
District-wide procedures outlined below are designed to help ensure that your student arrives safely to and from school each day:
- Students may have one regularly scheduled morning pick-up location and one regularly scheduled drop-off location. Multiple pick-up and drop-off locations will not be approved.
- Bus stop locations are assigned, where possible, to group students together at a central location. This provides a gathering place for students and allows parents to share the responsibility of monitoring the bus stop. Every attempt is made to ensure that no child must walk more than four-tenths of a mile (approximately four blocks) to their assigned bus stop.
- Pick-up and drop-off locations must be on a set schedule. Students may only ride a bus to which they are assigned.
- Telephone calls or written notes for same-day or temporary bus assignments will not be accepted.
- Parents and/or guardians are responsible for the child and their safety prior to boarding the bus in the morning and at the time the child is discharged from the bus in the afternoon. You can help ensure your child’s safety by discussing bus behavior rules and common courtesies expected on the bus and at the bus stop.
- Please do not ask drivers to change pick-up or drop-off times or locations. If you have questions or concerns please contact our Transportation Department at (269) 337-0500 or by Email. Administrative staff members must approve any change to ensure that the district abides by local, state and federal requirements
- Students should be at the bus stop before the scheduled or estimated pick-up time. Please plan to arrive fifteen minutes early during the first two weeks of school ten minutes the rest of the school year. Wait ten minutes after the scheduled time before reporting a problem. The listed bus stop times and location are subject to change as students enroll or change as students enroll or change addresses.
- Our priority during the beginning of the school years will be scheduling transportation for eligible students that do not have a bus assigned to them. We will not consider bus stop changes until all eligible students have been assigned to a bus.
- If it is necessary for you to change your student’s bus assignment due to a change of address, or a new childcare provider, please notify the school at least 5 days prior to the change. The school will notify you once the change has been approved.
- Bus numbers are subject to change.
Please note:
- All times are estimated and are subject to change.
- Please be sure your child is at the bus stop and is not waiting inside the house or in a vehicle.
- Bus numbers are subject to change.
- Bus drivers are subject to change.
- Route times and buses often change throughout the year.
- After the first two weeks of school, students must be at their assigned stop, ready to board the bus 10 minutes before the scheduled stop time.
