All of our Food Service team members receive annual allergy training through the National FAREcheck Allergy training program. Our Resident Dietitian creates menus that accommodate your child’s dietary needs, and these menus are prepared and served safely. If you think your student may need a modified menu, please complete the KPS Student Allergy and Modified Diet Assessment. This assessment will guide you to the forms we need to have completed before we can change a menu for a student. We do not need a new form annually. New forms must be completed if there are any changes to your students diet needs.
If your student needs a cow's milk substitute, such as soy milk or lactose-free milk, please fill out the Diet Accommodation Form stating the preferred milk substitute. This form needs to be signed by the guardian. Note: If your student has an intolerance to additional dairy products, like cheese or yogurt, please complete the KPS Student Allergy and Modified Diet Assessment.
Before KPS Food Services can make changes to the standard menu for any student, they must first have the completed Diet Accommodation Form on file. All completed forms need to be returned to the school nurse, school secretary, or the resident dietitian. A new form must be submitted for any changes in your child’s dietary needs or when requested by KPS Food Services. If you have questions, please call Kirsten, the Resident Dietitian at 269-598-9956.
The KPS Dining Services Team will prepare and distribute safe meals. However, after we distribute the meal, we cannot be responsible for further guidance to ensure the student eats that meal and/or does not eat additional food that might be shared by other students.
