Problem Solving Chain of Command

If you have questions or concerns, you must follow the problem solving chain of command. Most concerns can be answered by the classroom teacher or principal. If you still are experiencing issues, you should follow the chain of command in the order listed below.

For teacher/classroom concerns (ex: attendance, behaviors, discipline, grades, multilingual services, Section 504 plans, special education services, summer school, test scores):

  1. Classroom Teacher
  2. Principal
  3. Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education or Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education 
  4. Superintendent
  5. Board of Education

For instruction or curriculum concerns:

  1. Classroom Teacher
  2. Principal
  3. Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Angela Thomas
  4. Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education or Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education 
  5. Superintendent 
  6. Board of Education

For discipline or classroom/school behavior concerns:

  1. Classroom Teacher
  2. Principal or Assistant Principal
  3. Director of the Student Services 
  4. Assistant Superintendent of Student Services 
  5. Superintendent 
  6. Board of Education

For matters involving facilities/buildings:

  1. Principal
  2. Director of Facilities
  3. Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education Instruction and Leadership
  4. Superintendent
  5. Board of Education

For matters involving transportation:

  1. Principal
  2. Director of Transportation
  3. Assistant Superintendent of Elementary or Secondary Instruction and Leadership
  4. Superintendent
  5. Board of Education

For matters involving food and nutrition services:

  1. Principal
  2. Regional Food Services Director
  3. Chief Financial Officer 
  4. Superintendent
  5. Board of Education

For matters involving athletics:

  1. Coach
  2. Athletic Director
  3. Principal
  4. Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Instruction and Leadership
  5. Superintendent
  6. Board of Education
