Yes. KPS values the opportunity for four year olds to receive educational services through the Pre-kindergarten Early Education Program (PEEP), which is a Great Start Readiness Program. The program is full-day in select elementary schools across the district. Meals are provided and transportation may be available. We invite parents/guardians to come see the program and contact the PEEP office for more information at (269) 337-0095. Learn more!

There is a SchoolSite locator on our website where you can enter your address and find out your school assignment. Please note that neither El Sol Elementary School or Lincoln International Studiess School have boundaries. If you have questions, contact Student Services at (269) 337-0161.

We offer classes at 25 buildings. We have 17 elementary schools, four middle schools, and four high school programs. We also have a fully-virtual program for students in sixth through twelfth grade. You can find the school directory here.

Students must be 5 by Sept. 1 of the year they enroll. Parents may request a waiver if the child will be 5 by Dec. 1 of the year they enroll. Each spring we hold a Kindergarten Orientation. If you'd like to register outside of orientation, please call Student Services at (269) 337-0161.  Learn more about enrolling in kindergarten here.

Students in elementary schools have the opportunity to participate in the academically talenten program (A/T) or Curiosity Lab. Learn more here. In middle school, students can test into the Academically Talented Youth Program at Western Michigan University.

High-achieving high school students can test for the Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center. In addition, our high schools offers over twenty  Advanced Placement courses through which students can earn college credit. High school students may also dual enroll at Western Michigan University or Kalamazoo Valley Community College. High school students have the opportunity to participate in Early/Middle College, a five-year program through which students earn their high school diploma and an associate's degree or community college certificate simultaneously.

8:50 a.m. to 3:56 p.m.; half days dismiss at 12:02 p.m.

Edison, Lincoln and Woodward
8:08 a.m. to 3:14 p.m.; half days dismiss at 11:24 a.m.

Linden Grove
8:06 a.m. to 3:01 p.m.; half days dismiss at 11:16 a.m.

Secondary Schools 
7:27 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.; half days dismiss at 10:40 a.m.

Phoenix High School
7:22 a.m. to 1:01 p.m.; half days dismiss at 10:30 a.m.

Students in kindergarten have access to a device to use at school.

Students in 1st-4th grades have a device to use while they are at school AND can have a device to keep at home to support their learning. 

Students in 5th-12th grades have a "backpack" device. They are expected to bring their device to and from school fully charged daily.
