Kalamazoo Central High School

It is our mission to help our students become successful and to assist them in reaching their potential.  Building relationships with our students/families and maintaining sound two-way communication between the home and school are vital to this endeavor.  It is also essential that our parents have easy access to all information that the school offers so that they can make informed educational decisions with their children.

Here you will find essential information for parents and students for the school year.  From this site you will be able to access staff emails, special announcements, guidance information, athletic schedules, and more.  It is my desire to have a safe and productive year where the Kalamazoo Central High School Community works together to achieve greatness.

At Kalamazoo Central we want all of our students to go "PRO" (be Prepared, be Respectful, take Ownership.)   Let's take GIANT steps forward!

KC students, this message is from the cafeteria: Every meal needs to have a half cup of veggies and or fruit and you must have all components when checking out with the cashiers. This is a state requirement and will be reinforced here at K. Central.

The KC Wrestling Team are District Champions! They were victorious last night, beating both Portage Central and Portage Northern in thrilling fashion, winning both dual meets on tie breaking criteria. Senior Captains Craig King, Lamontre Coker, and Jacob Seager led our team consisting of Cameron Williams, Sam Rice, Nik Vallier, Jeriean Steward, Jeffrey DeYoung, Austin Post, Rhyan Smith, Sam Henley, Pikasso Guttierez, Nick Salvaggio, Nick Weston, Jeffrey Moore and many others. Hard work pays off, great work everyone!

Two Kalamazoo United Alpine Ski Team members from KC had top five overall finishes at Wednesday evening’s ski race at Bittersweet. For the boys, sophomore Jaxson Terranella-Hoffman finished 7th in the Giant Slalom event and 3rd in Slalom to finish 5th overall. This was a career best night for Jaxson! On the girl’s side, Junior Emily Eckert finished 4th in Slalom and 6th in Giant Slalom to tie for 4th overall. Emily has finished 6th, 4th, and 3rd twice in the overall standings this season. Congrats to the whole team including Tasia Parsons, Jordan Smith, and Sam Van Natter for a strong performance.

On Tuesday, February 13th the Kalamazoo United Alpine Ski Team will compete in the MHSAA Division 1, Region 1 Championships at Cannonsburg, just north of Grand Rapids. Top performers in that meet earn the right to go to the State Finals. Please wish all our skiers the best of luck!
