Kalamazoo Central High School

It is our mission to help our students become successful and to assist them in reaching their potential.  Building relationships with our students/families and maintaining sound two-way communication between the home and school are vital to this endeavor.  It is also essential that our parents have easy access to all information that the school offers so that they can make informed educational decisions with their children.

Here you will find essential information for parents and students for the school year.  From this site you will be able to access staff emails, special announcements, guidance information, athletic schedules, and more.  It is my desire to have a safe and productive year where the Kalamazoo Central High School Community works together to achieve greatness.

At Kalamazoo Central we want all of our students to go "PRO" (be Prepared, be Respectful, take Ownership.)   Let's take GIANT steps forward!

Seniors, if you've been admitted to WMU, check the Admissions part of the WMU website for scholarships now and often.

Also seniors, if you've been admitted to any other colleges, continue to check your account portal, as well as the admissions and the financial aid parts of the college websites.

Sophomores, make sure you read your school email in the next few days so you know when your scheduling appointment is. Counselors will start meeting with you today.

The highly esteemed History Club will be meeting tomorrow (2/1) in room 312 and the next Thursday, February 8th, where WMU Professor Wilson Warren will be in attendance to speak about History Day. Please stop by Mr. Danis' room 312 to pick up History Day applications before the meeting.

The GSA meeting for this week has been moved to Friday (2/2), due to Parent Teacher Conferences - see Mr. McNab with any questions or concerns.

Voting for Winterfest King and Queen will be Thursday, February 1st from 8:00-3:00. All teachers will have the link so students can vote through their school email. The court will be announced on Friday (2/2). Voting for Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors has been sent out to school emails and staff. Voting closes tomorrow January 31st at 3pm.

No magic club this week due to conferences, which by the way are tonight from 4-7 and tomorrow night from 5-8. We hope to see you and your parents tonight or tomorrow night for parent-teacher conferences. And because of conferences tonight and tomorrow night, staff may not be available for after school tutoring. You will need to be with the WMU tutors before 2:30 or on your bus at dismissal. Please plan ahead for after school tutoring.

E-Sports video game club try-outs this Sunday (2/4) will be at 3:30pm instead of 5pm due to Super Bowl Sunday. E-Sports team students, please check your emails for a complete list of try-out schedules. Mandatory E-Sports meeting after school on Friday in room 136!

Last night the men’s basketball teams hosted Portage Central and came away with three wins: Freshmen 76-35, JV 61-31 and Varsity 52-50! Nice job KC Giants.
