Kalamazoo Central High School

It is our mission to help our students become successful and to assist them in reaching their potential.  Building relationships with our students/families and maintaining sound two-way communication between the home and school are vital to this endeavor.  It is also essential that our parents have easy access to all information that the school offers so that they can make informed educational decisions with their children.

Here you will find essential information for parents and students for the school year.  From this site you will be able to access staff emails, special announcements, guidance information, athletic schedules, and more.  It is my desire to have a safe and productive year where the Kalamazoo Central High School Community works together to achieve greatness.

Did you receive a No Credit 1st Trimester due to excessive absences?? Do you want an opportunity to earn that credit back? You MUST complete an Attendance Appeal including documentation no later than tomorrow (1/12). You may pick up the form in the Main Office and return it to the Main Office.

Congratulations to KC's Book Bowl Teams - KC will have multiple teams competing for the Book Bowl championship this Saturday, at WMU's Bernhard Center. The competition begins at 1:00 pm. Are you a Mortal Instruments or Lunar Chronicles fan? How about Michael Vey? The library media center now has the new book by the Mortal Instruments author Cassandra Clare and the Lunar Chronicles author Marissa Meyer. We also have the next book in the Michael Vey series. Come check them out!

Students, your cafeteria accounts need to be paid off starting next Monday, January 15th. They will be implementing the cold cheese sandwich and white milk again for the substitute lunch for those that owe.

Students you must have your parking pass visible on your car. This week campus safety will be checking cars with no parking pass. If you don’t have one, come to the principals office to pay $15 for your parking pass.

Just a reminder for all students, LAB 301 is open every Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday after school for your use. If you need a bus token get there by 2:30 and stay until 3:15.

There will be a bilingual club meeting in room 548 next Tuesday (1/16) from 2:30-3:15. We will be discussing and planning upcoming events. See you there.

Our last Macho Volleyball Practices are tomorrow (1/12). Freshman and Juniors from 2:30 - 4:00p, Sophomores and Seniors from 4:15p - 6:00p. Plan your own ride home after practice. Macho Volleyball will be held here at KC on Monday January 15th at 6pm. Admission for everyone attending will be $3

The wrestling team lost a tough match to Battle Creek Lakeview last night, which was also our Senior Night. We would like to recognize the great careers of Lamontre Coker, Craig King, and Jacob Seager as they were victorious in their last home dual meet. Also securing wins last night were Cameron Williams and Sam Henley.

Women's soccer conditioning has been changed to Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30. There will be conditioning today (1/11). Meet outside coach Sandhu's room, 348.

Conditioning for boys and girls lacrosse will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15-5:45 pm at Maple Street Middle School gym. If you are interested in playing please attend. No experience necessary.
