It is our mission to help our students become successful and to assist them in reaching their potential.  Building relationships with our students/families and maintaining sound two-way communication between the home and school are vital to this endeavor.  It is also essential that our parents have easy access to all information that the school offers so that they can make informed educational decisions with their children.

Here you will find essential information for parents and students for the school year.  From this site you will be able to access staff emails, special announcements, guidance information, athletic schedules, and more.  It is my desire to have a safe and productive year where the Kalamazoo Central High School Community works together to achieve greatness.

[All students have had friendly reminders for 2 weeks prior to the break.]

Any student interested in eSports, please meet Mr. Patterson in the cafeteria today (1/8) at 2:20.

The Creative Writing Club is having its first meeting today (1/8) after school in the library from 2:30-3:30. Snacks will be provided. Please see Ms. Murray in room 217 if you have any questions.

FCCLA will meet tomorrow (1/9) in room 406 after school. Students planning on attending or competing at the State Leadership Conference will need to attend this meeting.

ATHLETICS

1/6-13
Track conditioning will start next Monday (1/13) at 2:40 for athletes not participating in a winter sport. We will meet in the cafeteria.

Women's soccer conditioning will continue tomorrow (1/9) from 2:45 to 4:00. Meet in room 348.

Lacrosse announcement: There will be conditioning for both the women’s and men’s teams every Monday through Thursday from 4:30 to 6:00 at Maple Street Middle School. Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate in conditioning and to join the teams!

Baseball will have a general information meeting after school tomorrow (1/9) at 2:30 in the cafeteria. Plan your own transportation home.

For those of you who remember or know “Dunkin Doug” Anderson, he will be at Wings Stadium on January 22nd with the Globetrotters. Tickets are on sale now ($27-$72) either through Etix.com or at the Wings Stadium box office.

This Saturday (1/11) join the fun as our Maroon Giants take on the Loy Norrix Knights for three games of Basketball. During both the womens’ and mens’ varsity basketball games all junior and senior students are invited to enter to win a $1,000 scholarship to be used at any of the 14 top independent colleges and universities. That’s right, Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA) will award three $1,000 scholarships to three Kalamazoo Central students and three $1,000 scholarships to three Loy Norrix students. Winners will be announced at the start of the 3rd quarter of the mens game.  Simply stop by the Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA) booth on Saturday to enter to win! Or if you are unable to attend the game visit the athletic office during passing time on Thursday or Friday to complete an entry form. You do not have to be present to win.

Note: Junior and senior students can fill out an MCA scholarship entry form in the athletic office and main office. Completed forms can be put in Ms. Carter's  mailbox if she's not sitting at her desk. Entries must be filled out today, tomorrow or at the games Saturday, (KC vs Norrix: JV girls 3:00, Varsity girls 4:30, Varsity boys 6:00)
