Dear King-Westwood Jaguar Families,
We look forward to seeing all of our parents/guardians at conferences this week. Conferences are Monday evening and Wednesday
afternoon and evening. If you have not yet responded to your child’s teacher regarding conferences, please contact us at 269-337-0610 to set up a time for you to meet with your child’s teachers. Our special subject teachers will also be on hand during those times, so please be sure to stop by to visit with those teachers, as well.
Students in grades 3-5 are in the process of choosing their summer reading books, which will be mailed to them during the summer months. Teachers will be talking to you about this at conferences. What a wonderful gift to receive these books, along with communication from your child’s teacher, as they are reading together over the summer months. Having our children engage in reading these books and others at home during the summer months is one of the ways we can work together to prevent students from losing the knowledge and skills they have
learned, as well as the progress they have made during the school year.
Plan to visit the Kalamazoo Public Library during spring break (and this summer) if you will be in town! Students will be receiving information on the summer reading program at the Kalamazoo Public Library branches in the next few weeks. This is another great opportunity for our children to have access to high quality literature and continue to read during the summer months.
As we break for Spring Break, we want to wish all of our families a safe, restful and recharging week away from school. We look forward to seeing our students back at school on Monday, April 11.
We thank you for reviewing the expectations for positive and appropriate behaviors at school with your child. It takes all of us working together to help children to understand and follow the behavior expectations for school. We want all our students to FINISH STRONG! Thank you!
I look forward to seeing you at conferences and around school in the weeks to come. As always, please stop by, e-mail or call me if you have questions or a need to discuss something.
