What’s happening in the orchestra?

Published: 2 years 311 days ago Spotlight on 4th grade:

Excitement is high with the beginning of note reading and the students getting their Essential Elements books. We are learning the basics of
reading music and where the notes are located on the staff in relation to the instruments. Students should start practicing more since reading the
music is an additional skill to incorporate with posture and position. Sixty minutes per week is a good goal.

Spotlight on 5th grade:

The fifth graders have been given music for the Chenery Concert. The second annual concert for fifth grade orchestra students from King-Westwood, Winchell, and Arcadia elementary schools will take place on February 22, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars now so we can have 100% participation. This will be most of the players’ first opportunity to perform in a large ensemble (about 50 players!). What an amazing thing… to play on the stage of Chenery Auditorium! KPS is a great place for young musicians.
