10-19-15 Jaguar Journal

Published: 3 years 71 days ago Dear King-Westwood Jaguar Families,

Thank you to the parents/guardians and community members that volunteered for the Jaguar Fun Run. We were disappointed in the weather last Friday that caused a postponement of the Fun Run. We look forward to having the event Tuesday, October 20 during each grade level’s recess time. We hope you will be able to join us. Also, a big thank you to those who are able to participate in our efforts to send out our newsletters electronically or are willing to read them online. Although the Jaguar Journal is sent out electronically to all, we appreciate those that have indicated they do not need a paper copy of the newsletter.

In our efforts to effectively communicate between school and home with our Jaguar folders, we also have efforts to conserve paper with what we send home to families. It is practical to send only one copy of the newsletter and other key communications home with children when there is more than one child in the household attending King-Westwood. Therefore, if you have more than one child attending King-Westwood, we will be sending the newsletter and other key communication home with the youngest child in your household. The other children in the household attending King-Westwood will have a red dot on his/her folder. This dot means “stop” to those stuffing the folders and lets them know there is a
younger child in the household who will receive the information.

There will be times when ALL children in a particular household will receive the information. For example, picture day orders and other information where families will need one sheet for each individual child. In cases where the oldest child’s Jaguar folder is empty on a particular week, the child may choose to leave it at school. If we have made an error in your household and you are not getting the information you should receive, please do not hesitate to call us and let us know.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are less than a month away. Please watch for the letters so you can request a time to visit with your child’s teacher(s). They will be coming home in next week’s Jaguar folder. Please mark your calendar for the week of November 9th for these important meetings that help contribute to your child’s success in school.

Thank you to all our parent and community volunteers who recently helped out with Picture Day. We so appreciate having so many volunteers at King-Westwood, and we truly value the contributions each of you makes to our students.

I look forward to seeing you around school.

Best Regards,
Sandie Lundquist
