Sixth grade math offers a well developed integrated mathematics foundation (all strands of math). Topics of study include number theory, rational numbers, two-dimensional geometry and measurement, probability, an introduction to algebra, positive and negative numbers, scientific notation, and spatial visualization. Graphing calculator technology will be used in the later units of study to help visualize mathematical relationships and to better allow students to tackle real life problems.
