Kalamazoo Central Class of 1971 Planning 51st Reunion
The Kalamazoo Central High School Class of 1971 will hold its 51st Class Reunion 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, at Indian Run Golf Club, 6359 RS Ave E, Scotts, MI 49088. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available. $45 after June 15 at the door. Classmate Sharon Ferraro, will offer a guided tour of the old Kalamazoo Central High School. Chenery Auditorium is beautiful and the former first-floor study hall has become a reception room. To visit the venerable building, meet Ferraro at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Dutton Street entrance. Park behind the building.
Classmate Eugene Clark, (269) 365-7593, is organizing a golf outing at Indian Run: 18 holes beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and ending in time for the party that evening. The fee for 18 holes and a cart is $40. Pay at the course before tee off. Call Clark to participate.
On Sunday, the reunion committee has rented the Kalamazoo Foundation Pavilion at Markin Glen County Park, which is located south of the Nature Center, at 5333 N. Westnedge Ave. The pavilion is on the west side of North Westnedge and has a private drive and ample parking. BYO food and drinks - and alcohol is permitted. There will be music at the pavilion from 1 to 4 p.m., but guests can stay as late as 8 p.m. There is a $5 per car county park fee to enter the park.
