Lift Up Through Literacy 2016-17

Free Program Helps Families Build Literacy and Numbers Skills Through Hands-on Activities

The Lift Up Through Literacy Program offers parents of newborns , preschoolers, and school-age students an opportunity to learn and grow together through the use of hands-on literacy and numeracy strategies. The program is the beginning of a 12-year journey to helping children achieve their career dreams through benefiting from the Kalamazoo Promise.

Lift Up Through Literacy begins its fall sessions on Sept. 27, 2016. The sessions will be held at nine different locations throughout Kalamazoo. Grandparents, parents, caregivers and children who desire to support children in reading, writing, and mathematics are encouraged to attend. Free books, a light meal, child care, and door prizes are offered each week. An end-of-session incentive is provided for parents who attend all eight weeks.

Call (269) 337-0833 for more information and to sign up.
