Strategic Planning Expectations Unveiled

Dr. Michael Rice unveiled the Kalamazoo Public Schools' Strategic Planning Expectations at a meeting Monday, April 28, 2008, held at the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors' office.

Dr. Rice explained the strategic planning process and thanked the more than 250 parents, teachers, support staff and community members who have been a part of the process. Dr. Rice talked about the importance of creating a "common culture" around education. A wall chart containing the five subcommittee reports was introduced and handed out to churches and community agencies that serve children. The first two charts were presented to Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell, and Kalamazoo Education Association President Millie Lambert.

The Strategic Plan will be rolled out in a number of different ways in the coming months. The five subcommittee reports are now available on the Kalamazoo Public Schools website.
