Payment Options

Children enrolled in any middle or high school building are encouraged to prepay for meals. All payments can be for any amount you desire. You can pay by the week, month or year.  For simplicity we encourage you to make the largest deposits you can afford. This will help reduce your child's account from frequently becoming delinquent.

Checks Only:

Parents can send a check made out to Kalamazoo Public Schools Food Service Office.  We are located at:

Checks or Cash:

You may also send cash, but we recommend a check, to the food service office in your student's building. For all elementary buildings please send money on the first school day of the week in a sealed envelope indicating the following:

• Student(s) name
• Teachers Name
• Student ID numbers (if available)

Debit Card or Credit Card Online:

Please visit the MealPay Plus website to use your debit or credit card. Funds deposited will be available  the following business day, if they are received no later than 4 pm Monday through Friday.

You may also view account purchases using this service. There is no fee to sign up. A small transaction fee is imposed if funds are deposited to a student account. Please contact the Food Service Office for further details.

Returned Checks:

If checks are returned to KPS from the bank with insufficient funds, there will be a $25.00 returned check fee. Additionally, the insufficient funds will be removed from your student account(s).
