Welcome to the Library

Downtown Community Read Scavenger Hunt May 14th!

From 10 a.m.-12 p.m. with a free lunch immediately following. The Downtown Scavenger Hunt will begin downtown and parking areas will be designated on a map. There will be five clues leading to five destinations. Prizes will be awarded at the lunch. More details and a handout will be given at spring conferences and we'll be asking families to sign up for the event to make sure we have enough food and volunteers.

This is a FREE event for all families to attend!

Library Staff

My name is Maureen Cartmill. I've been privileged to work at Parkwood-Upjohn for twelve years. I'm a certified teacher and began my time here as a permanent substitute librarian. I now work with At Risk students in reading comprehension, assist every classroom with book selection and coordinate the Accelerated Reading Program.

I have two daughters that graduated from Kalamazoo Public Schools. One has graduated from college and my youngest is finishing her junior year at the University of Michigan. My husband and I love living in Kalamazoo.

Keep an eye on the library web page as I will attempt to keep you informed of all our activities and events.

My greatest joy is working with your children and helping to inspire enthusiastic readers. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
