Milwood Magnet School: A Center for Math, Science and Technology
Milwood Magnet School produces successful students. We have devoted staff, a state-of-the art learning facility, involved parents, many community partnerships, and of course, incredible students. The Milwood Magnet School will engage a community of learners in technology-rich and academically rigorous learning experiences that foster a healthy sense of self-esteem and a desire for lifelong learning.
Math, science and technology drive learning that is grounded in core academics. The unique magnet curriculum surrounds biotechnology, the use of organisms to manufacture products and services, and it ignites students' desires to learn. Biotechnology curriculum is centered on four convictions: All students can learn biotechnology; diversity and innovation enrich all classrooms; biotechnology concepts and skills are important for students to know; and learning about biotechnology helps students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills for their economic, civic and personal lives.
