    Nonfiction Day, on March 13, was a hit with students and families alike. Our object was correctly identified as a meteorite on loan from Eric Schreur the director of the Kalamazoo Valley Museum's Planetarium. A prized possession, it was obtained from the Barringer Meteor Crater just outside of Winslow, Arizona.   The blackened sheen of the meteor was created by the extreme heat generated on it's surface as it passed through our atmosphere at high rates of speed.
