    A comparison of “bothering” and “bullying”:

    A girl kept staring at a boy until he was really annoyed. He told her to stop but she didn’t. The next time they lined up he deliberately walked by her and bumped into her. This is bothering: unskilled kid behavior that annoys other children. Boys and girls tend to bother differently but they both do it. You see it in your own children (and if they never do this kind of ‘bugging’, then you see it...

    “Take the Shape of Kindness” is this year’s theme. Peace Pizzazz is a celebration of what children have learned about non-bullying and solving problems peacefully. There will be creations, face painting, Chinese calligraphy, free bubbles for all children, a parade, and performances demonstrating children’s understanding of empathy and inclusion.

  • The City of Kalamazoo Department of Parks and Recreation is offering Game Time for youths ages 6-17.

    The program is for youths who want to play and compete with other youths in game tournaments. Computer, board games, and others are available. Status of players and champions will be posted.

    The program is held at the Youth Development Center on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and will run through May 29 at NO CHARGE.
