The Michigan Merit Exam (MME) required by the Michigan Department of Education will be administered at Kalamazoo Central High School, Loy Norrix High School, and Phoenix High School on March 6-8, 2012. The exam is divided into three parts: the ACT + Writing exam; WorkKeys tests in Mathematics, Reading and Locating Information; and Michigan’s Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
Course catalogs for the 2012-2013 school year are now available. These catalogs describe all courses and course requirements for students in grades 6-12 at KPS. To read them, open the attachments below. Paper catalogs are also available in school offices and the administration building.

Two-year-old Kamaia Spencer was critically injured when she was hit by a car on Drake Road in Kalamazoo on November 23, 2011. Kamaia was released from the hospital just before Christmas. Her ongoing rehabilitation includes intensive therapeutical care and travel to care facilities outside of Kalamazoo. Kamaia’s mother, Serena Dickason, is employed through Kalamazoo Public Schools as a school bus driver. Because Ms. Dickason will not be able to return to work for as long as Kamaia needs...
During the month of February (February 4 - 22) the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts will fill its galleries with art by young artists who attend kindergarten through eighth grades in Kalamazoo County schools. Students who have had their work chosen to be on display will receive a note from their school. Receptions for all schools are scheduled for the opening weekend as follows:
