Curriculum Audit Complete

Phi Delta Kappa International has completed a Curriculum Management Audit of the Kalamazoo Public Schools. The audit was requested by Dr. Michael Rice, Superintendent, and commissioned by the Board of Education. 

A curriculum audit is designed to reveal the extent to which officials and professional staff of a school district have developed and implemented a sound, valid and operational system of curriculum management. When such a system is fully operational, it assures the district taxpayers that their fiscal support is optimized under the conditions in which the school district functions.

Kalamazoo Public Schools, a K-12 district located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serves over 11,500 students in 2 traditional high schools, 1 alternative high school, 3 middle schools and 16 elementary schools. Of these schools, 8 are magnet schools. Approximately 790 teachers and 1300 other employees work to meet the needs of our students. Kalamazoo Public Schools also provides specialized services through the Kalamazoo Area Mathematics and Science Center, Alternative Education and Adult and Community Education Center.
