2009-2010 Board of Education Meetings

in

Article 6, Section 6.6 of the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees of the Kalamazoo Public Schools reads as follows:

Regular meetings of the Board of Education will be held at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, at the schools' administration building, or at such other time or place as designated by the Board.

Meeting dates for the 2009-2010 school year are:

  • July 9 and 23
  • August 13 and 27
  • September 10 and 24
  • October 8 and 22
  • November 12*
  • December 10*
  • January 14*
  • February 4** and 25
  • March 11 and 25
  • April 8 and 22
  • May 13 and 27
  • June 10 and 24

*Only one regular meeting this month.
**Deviation from second and fourth Thursday schedule.

KPS Board Approves Long-Term District Goals

At its February 26, 2009, Board meeting, the Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education approved long-term goals designed to increase the number of students at or above proficiency in reading, writing at all levels, and math; double the number of students taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the number of AP courses students take; and improve the graduation rate in a six-year period.
